When the shot breaks, go home

Ohio Gov.

John Kasich is calling for a full investigation into the shooting death of a man who was shot multiple times by police after a car chase.

“This is an important time for Ohio and for our police officers and our community,” Kasich said during a speech Thursday.

“We need to hold accountable those who violated the trust of the people and the citizens of Ohio.”

Kasich said he has directed a special prosecutor to look into whether the shooting was justified and whether police department policies are being followed.

He also called for the department to be held accountable for the deaths of two other men.

“As the governor said, it is an absolute crisis in our community that there are so many police officers that feel unsafe and so many communities who are at risk,” he said.

Kasch also said the city of Columbus must create a “safe, supportive environment” for officers.
