The shooting at a Walmart in northwest Texas killed a 15-year-old girl and wounded two mothers.
The shooting occurred Monday when two women approached the Walmart, according to the Dallas Morning News.
One of the mothers fired her gun, striking the suspect in the head.
The second mother was able to crawl into the store’s restroom, where she fired her weapon twice, striking one of the women, the newspaper reported.
The other woman, who was not injured, fled the store.
The two were taken to a hospital, where the third mother was pronounced dead.
The suspect was taken into custody and later released.
Police in Waco, Texas, released a statement saying that there was “no indication” the two mothers were connected to the Walmart shooting.
The shooting happened around 4:30 p.m.
A Walmart spokesman told CNN that the incident was the result of an “active shooter” situation.
