The American shooting center was established in 1949 by two former US Air Force pilots as a school of shooting for military and law enforcement.
Its mission was to provide training for civilians to become proficient in the use of a wide range of firearms.
Its goal was to ensure that the US military would be able to respond to the needs of a rapidly changing society by providing a safe and effective means of conflict resolution.
Today, the center is a nationally recognized entity and operates with over 100 employees in more than 100 states.
